This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used on GUTS (gutsmagazine.ca). PII is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. When do we collect information?

We collect information from you when you subscribe to the GUTS newsletter or enter information on our site. We use a third-party service (TinyLetter) to store the information you submitted when you signed up for the GUTS newsletter. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails from the GUTS newsletter, you can email us at editors@gutsmagazine.ca and we will promptly remove you from ALL correspondence.

How do we protect your information?

While we do not presently use an SSL certificate, we regularly employ Malware Scanning to ensure the ongoing security of the GUTS website. We store the information you submitted when you signed up for the GUTS newsletter on a secure, third-party server (TinyLetter).

Do we use ‘cookies’?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

GUTS uses first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such Twitter or Facebook) to compile data regarding user interactions as they relate to our website. GUTS has implemented Demographic and Interests Reporting through Google Analytics tracking.

How does our site handle Do Not Track signals?
