Meet Les Femmes Fatales, a burlesque dance troupe made up entirely of women of colour
Christie Vuong is a Toronto-based photographer originally from Montreal. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from Concordia University in 2011. Since completing her studies, Christie has worked as a photo editor for several prominent Canadian magazines while producing work as a photographer. Her portfolio includes both commercial and editorial projects, focusing on portrait, fashion, lifestyle, and food photography. Drawing from her experiences growing up in Quebec as a first generation Canadian, Christie’s work challenges the conventions of fashion photography and encourages her audience to consider how issues of race, gender, cultural identity, and sexuality are portrayed in society.
