- Edmonton social planning council calculates that the living wage in Edmonton for a family of four with two working adults is $17.36 an hour. Alberta’s actual minimum wage is $10.20.
- Team USA received a ticker-tape parade in NYC this week after triumphing over Japan in the Women’s World Cup final. Sunday’s match, which took place in Vancouver was the most-viewed soccer game ever in the U.S., with a record 26.7 million viewers. They were the first female athletes ever to be honoured with a parade, and they all make less than a living wage.
